Scouting in the 1960s for a location to build his namesake resort, Walt Disney settled on an area in Central Florida where highway infrastructure was already in place-near the confluence of the Florida Turnpike and Interstate 4. (Note that the resolution of Landsat imaging instruments was lower at the beginning of the time series than at the end.)
